Generation 1 & 2 - Earl Jigs & Mae Jigs

So The Jigs started off with just a friendly lumberjack lookin' man named Earl Jigs. He is very camera shy, so I have no images of him for most of his life (or I might a lazy screen shot taker).

He quickly met a beautiful woman named Janie.

They quickly fell in love and got married.
Soon after, Janie and Earl moved to their own home and started their family. Earl became a Master Mixologist while Janie stayed at home and raised their twins, Ronny and Mae. Ronny was a Rambunctious Scamp who desperately wanted to be a comedian. He spent many days running after his sister, Mae, on the Pirate Ship. Mae is an artistic lady with a real knack for painting. She loves listening to music but can't create it quite as well as she can paint on the easel.

Now let's jump a few years that we'll call "lost in time" because I hadn't decided I would blog this yet. Earl and Janie are grown and loving each other more each day. Earl mastered his Mixology craft and retired. Janie is still working on her Successful Lineage. Ronny and Mae are NOT advancing through their skills quickly enough to master anything. Mae is Janie's only hope - she's at 7/10 on Painting.

What says true love better than dancing in your kitchen to classical music?

Speaking of true love, Mae has met a slightly disturbed man name Darian. He talks to himself when alone in a room but he gets along great with Mae. They instantly hit it off.
Janie and Earl enjoying drinks in the back yard.

Earl and Janie love to spend their days outdoors. Janie took up gardening for awhile before she aged. Here she is exhausting herself to keep on top of her 12 full garden boxes. Soon after, she quit and hasn't missed it at all. Who REALLY needs 50 bushes of parsley, anyway?

Meanwhile, Darian and Mae sneak into Earl and Janie's bed for some afternoon delight!

Don't forget about Ronny! He has been feeling pretty confident since his grilling accident. Not sure why he wanted to grill burgers at 2:30 AM, anyway. No Sims were lost in the fire of Gen. 2.

Speaking of some delicious burgers, Janie sat down with Ronny and Mae to discuss some important details. Earl's health is failing and the end is near.

Before long, Earl falls to his elderly demise in the backyard.

Janie pleads with the Grim Reaper for Earl's life. Mae, Ronny, and Chandler Bing (yes, the Friends cast lives in my neighborhood! Monica makes a great caterer for parties) mourn Earl's passing.

The Grim Reaper hears Janie's pleas and let's Earl have a few more hours with his loved ones.

The lovers can't even make it through the night without Earl's health failing again. And yet again, the Grim Reaper feels Janie's love and lets Earl live, for now.

In an effort to take it easy, Janie and Earl watch their favorite TV shows while their children sleep.
Meanwhile, Mae has been dealing with Earl's health issues the best way she knows how - through her art. As she works in her favorite space, she decides that Darian and she will get married immediately so that Earl can be at the wedding.
And at 9 AM, Mae and Darian are married in the park. However, someone is missing. Make that several someones.

Make that ALL someones
.

That's right folks, not ONE person watched the wedding ceremony because Earl is too weak to make it to the pews. He died as the couple spoke their vows of undying love. (insert tears)

Janie was supposed to watch her dear daughter get married today and instead is collecting her husband's ashes to take home.

She's mourning really hard. The painting she created hangs above Earl's spot in the bed.

Several days later, Ronny is left cleaning up some suspicious toilet fumes that his wife left behind on her way to work. Could Generation 3 be on it's way?

Darian: Look, Mae, I don't know what you had to eat last night but let me tell you - it left some serious mess in the toilet! I spent like 30 minutes scrubbing it up!
Mae: Darian, it wasn't my dinner from last night. We're having a baby!

Darian and Mae are officially bringing in the first of Generation 3!
While Mae basks in her pregnancy glow and Janie watches for Earl's ghost to visit, Ronny is trying to find anyone who can enjoy his special brand of humor. Across the street, Deandra and Angila have moved in. The three of them get along great and Deandra even gives Ronny a few winks after a joke or two.
Ronny, loves the idea of love and is excited to get to know Deandra and Angila even better.
Pretty soon, he messes it up though! One too many jokes in, and Deandra is offended but Ronny makes  a smooth recovery with his comedic timing.
Somehow, Ronny and Deandra get to a pleasant conversation again and quickly decide to see what can develop here.

With Angila at school, Ronny and Deandra head to a lounge to get to know each other better. Ronny learns that Deandra is a stay-at-home mom and lives vicariously through Angila's painting interest. Ronny reminds her that she should take time for herself, too.
 Which clearly Deandra loved hearing.

Ronny even mustered up enough courage to give her a sweet kiss. Quickly after, the date was a huge success (Gold medal earned!) and Ronny had to rush to his job as an Intern in the Astronaut branch.

Back at home, Deandra pops by to meet Janie and a blossoming pregnant Mae.

Darian is pretty excited about that growing babe!
One night, a very lonely Janie gets on to chat up with a ncie gentleman from her past. The long-ago friends chat nicely but no sparks that Janie yearns for.
Then, in a tender moment of loneliness, Earl pops back in to show his woman that she doesn't need anyone else. He'll be hers even in the after-life.

They even spend some time in their bedroom (see Janie's painting from her mourning period?) getting to know each other again. Soon after, Earl returns to his final resting place but Janie doesn't feel so lonely anymore.

Here's our sweet Ronny dropping the seasoning in the scrambled eggs. He is really trying to be more domestic in attempts to woo Deandra.

As Janie cannot get over Earl, she often goes to the back yard and mourns over his grave site. It's so sad!
Janie keeps herself in higher spirits by talking to her future grandbaby!

Here is the happy little family! Introducing a beautiful baby girl, Eva Jigs! The official start of generation 3. Eva will get her own chapter when she ages up. Eva's name comes from the Hebrew tradition of naming the newest member of the family after the latest member of the family that has passed. So, to honor Earl, I did the randomizer name thing until I got a name that began with an E.

Darian slept through the labor and first diaper change.
Janie gets some snuggles in and dreams of all the things her previous granddaughter will do in this world.
It isn't much longer before Janie dies of a broken heart, though. She held on until Eva was born but didn't have much life left in her. Too bad because her family ways would be so helpful in raising the next generation!
Mae's parents are both now gone and she often visits their grave sites to inspire herself. She painted a Masterpiece Sad Painting soon after this trip.
There is Daddy Darian with his baby girl.

Meanwhile, Ronny runs into Deandra at the park. They have both been too busy to have much of a date or relationship. Ronny finds out that Deandra got pregnant on their first time together.

Ronny decides to make an honest woman of her, instead of leaving her with Angila and his child to raise on her own. He proposes with a matching rose to the one he gave her on their first day together. She says yes!

With little time to waste (Deandra is clearly in the third trimester by now!) She and Ronny decide to elope at the park. And with that Ronny's chapter is closed and he moves out to raise his family with Deandra, Angila, and the future baby Jigs.
